Hello there.

Just wanted to get some thoughts from you. I just got here in NZ 5 months ago under a working visa (valid until 2013). I intend to apply for a skilled migrant visa (to get resident visa) and include my partner – who is still living in the Philippines. We've been together for at least 5 years and I understand that the immigration requires various documents to prove this. I haven't lodge my EOI yet. Here are my questions:

1. Will my working visa be affected if the immigration denies my EOI/application?

2. Is there a possibility that the immigration will give me a resident visa but not my partner?
